Raven 06:25
I may not ever see you breathe again you came into my life on Atlantic flight and now I stare - I'm staring at the sea in case your heart skips a beat and you are gone from me Diving down to earth from streetlight your ruffled feathers fold like linen at night Speak like there's no consequence in the back seat of a cab we're flying through the city stepping in one door and out the other beat our wings together with the band and we all squawk at once - talking with our hands Diving down to earth from streetlight your ruffled feathers fold like linen at night I can hear that something is flying above me maybe it's my other life black and beautiful in flight in code, in code, in code That fierce, strong, kind environmentalist has gone and we're still raving on the dancefloor to the raging techno beat the protest boats go on into hostile waters but no one's listening, the sweat is glistening from the backs of cross dressers stomping in high heels she throws her head around in circles welcome to her stiletto Diving down to earth from streetlight a tiny blip becomes a landslide - I can feel that something big is circling around me clumps of steel are falling from a great height I say your children they will be alright maybe it's their other life bold and beautiful in flight to become raven to become raven
 to become raven
 to become raven

In a dream, I was a prize fighter in a ring flailing about until I came crashing down on the canvas flamboyantly like an empty orchestra Baby, stop pushing yourself away from the landing Baby, stop pushing yourself in the opposite direction Baby, baby, baby you're all tied up in knots like you're trying to type a letter in boxing gloves Once I went out walking to find what I had lost the people all would tell me they'd say "don't make a scene" Taken from right under my eyes like a lost bird on a cold, stormy night it's hard to believe we're all suckers for love at daybreak I'll be rubbing my eyes to prove that I wasn't surprised to be taken so easily When I was young, I would listen to the bass playing through the wall the frequencies would guide me from my dreaming state Taken from right under my eyes like a lost bird on a cold, stormy night it's hard to believe we're all suckers for love at daybreak I'll be rubbing my eyes to prove that I wasn't surprised to be taken so easily It doesn't matter from where you came be it one wheel, one bag, one train we come together then pivot away on a blue dust, blue dust trail At daybreak I'll be rubbing my eyes to prove that I wasn't surprised to be taken taken taken so easily
